Site information
Privacy
A short, plain-English summary of what this site does with your data.
What is collected
If you submit your email address to read the email-gated articles, I store:
- Your email address.
- The date and time you submitted it.
- The IP address and browser that submitted it (for spam control).
- The exact text of the consent notice that was on screen when you submitted it.
- The date you most recently used your access cookie.
Vercel Analytics records aggregated, cookie-less page-view counts. No advertising or third-party tracking is used anywhere on this site.
Why
To verify you are a real person before showing you gated content, and so I can email you about future articles. That is it. The list is not shared, sold, or used for any other purpose.
How long
I keep subscriber records until you unsubscribe, after which the row is marked unsubscribed and any session cookies are invalidated. You can also email me to have your row deleted entirely.
Where
Subscriber records live in a managed Postgres database (Neon, hosted in the EU). Access-code emails are sent through Resend (also EU). The site is hosted on Vercel. Each provider has its own GDPR-compliant data processing terms.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You can:
- Unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of any email I send you.
- Request a copy of the data I hold on you.
- Request deletion of your row.
- Object to any further processing.
For any of the above, email andy@andrewfevans.com.
Consent text
By submitting your email, you agree to receive a one-time access code and occasional updates from Andy Evans about new articles. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email. Your address will not be shared, sold, or used for any other purpose. See the privacy policy at /privacy.
Changes
If this policy changes I will update this page and date it. Last updated: April 2026.
